  • June 1 '08 - It was just announced that Musclemania America & World Championships will return to Las Vegas for first time in 6 years!  The annual November extravaganza will also feature the Fitness, Ms. Bikini, Figure and Model America with major television coverage.  More news soon.
  • June 1 '08 - A major network will soon begin shooting a new television reality show featuring recreational and competitive bodybuilders, both natural and no-so-natural.  Invitation only interviews will soon begin and we'll have more info posted soon.
  • May 24 '08 - Former MM Pro Ade Rai was chosen as one of the Olympic torch relay runners when it came to his native Jakarta.  The Asian sensation owns a chain of health clubs, nutrition line and sports apparel lines and is regarded as an Indonesian celebrity.
  • May 22 '08 - Entries for the MM Universe Junior Division are foretelling the biggest teenage bodybuilding show seen in over a decade.  Teenage and college level bodybuilders will be one of the show highlights.
  • May 10 '08 - The recent MM Mexico featured the largest show in its 7 year history. Over 200 competitors participated in this annual spectacular which included Ms. Bikini, Figure and Model Mexico divisions. Middlweight & Overall Champion Rafael Arechiga will next compete at MM Universe in Miami, June 20-21.
  • April 21 '08 - MM Pros Morris Mendez, Ulisses Jr., Jody Ramos, Sean Larson, Jeff Beckham and others will be meeting and greetings fans at MM Atlantic this weekend.
  • April 20 '08 - With over 200 pre-registered competitors, Musclemania Atlantic promoter Brian Cannone has closed entries to this weekend's show. Presale ticket sales are also nearly sold-out, so there will be many disappointed fans wanting to come watch the show.
  • April 5 '08 - Models for the Fitness Fashion Show at Universe Weekend will be selected by a panel of Miami Beach talent agents and fashion photographers.  The judges will pick both men and women sports fitness models who register for Model Universe on Friday morning, June 20.
  • April 5 '08 - New Musclemania Universe sponsors include Dymatize, Champion Nutrition, Edge Performance, Valeo and more to be announced soon.
  • Mar 29 '08 - MM Pro Morris Mendez will appear on the cover of the May edition of Muscle & Fitness magazine.  This will be the third M&F cover for the lifetime natural bodybuilder who is currently weighing 198 lbs. as he prepares for additional upcoming magazine photo sessions.
  • Jan 24 '08 - Musclemania is seeking the world's best natural bodybuilders in the first Musclemania.com Championships. Bodybuilders in all parts of the world will soon be invited to participate by submitting their videos and/or photos on-line and MM.com visitors will be able to cast their votes. The winners will be sponsored to compete at Musclemania Universe and World Championships. Details will be announced soon.
  • Jan 14 '08 - Long a popular category among international bodybuilders, Musclemania World Tour is pleased to announce the new Mixed Pairs Division !  Exclusively for men and women bodybuilding couples, this new division will feature choreographed performances by both bodybuilders.  It will debut at Musclemania Universe in Miami.  More news soon.

  • Dec 7 '07 - A new television documentary will feature the Musclemania Europe.  German sports network DSF has long avoided broadcasting bodybuilding competitions but has accepted the reality style show about the sport of natural bodybuilding including the preparation and lifestyle of Musclemania bodybuilders Bergen Schmidt and Omar Klein.
  • Nov 24 '07 - Working backstage and helping the MM World competitors has seemed to rekindle the spirit of MM Pro Morris Mendez to compete again. He has not stepped foot on stage since barely loosing the 2005 MM World in Hollywood.  But, apparently his training has been intense and physique changed.  As we know more, it will be posted.
  • Nov 23 '07 - Team India sent a squad of 4 of the country's best natural bodybuilders across the Pacific Ocean to compete at MM World.  Next season, there will be at least five Musclemania regional shows in India which will be highlighted on ESPN India.
  • Nov 21 '07 - Back by viewer demand, Live Webcasts will be offered at the 2008 Universe, New York and America shows.  Complete coverage will feature on-stage competition, interviews and backstage action to avid fitness, muscle and model fans around the world.
  • Nov 21 '07 - Aussie MM Pro Nick Jones served as guest host at MM World in Hollywood introducing to the audience his down-under accent and colorful euphemisms.  The owner of a successful nutrition manufacturing business won the '06 MM World and was on hand to support friend and fellow bodybuilder Joel Ramintas who lost out to Danny Hester in the LW Class.
  • Nov 20 '07 - Beginning in 2008, MM Superbody will move from its home in Miami to New York and become part of Fitness New York.  Replacing it will be the new MM Universe and become part of the Universe Weekend.  Like MM Superbody, it will have both Amateur and Pro Divisions.
  • Nov 20 '07 - Beginning in 2008, MM World will no longer be held in Hollywood and will move to a different international city each season.  Replacing it will be the new MM America and will join the Fitness, Ms. Bikini, Figure and Model America shows also held in Hollywood each November.  Like MM World, it will have both Amateur and Pro Divisions.
  • Nov 20 '07 - New veteran promoters will be assuming the Midwest and Delta shows.  Stacy Stengel and Nicole Guerreo will be taking the helms and moving the Midwest show from Chicago to Elgin, Illinois.  And former OCB promoter Gary Gnann will move the Delta show from its home of 4 years from New Orleans to Baton Rouge.  Their expertise and promotion experience will help thrust these two regional shows to new levels of competitor, audience and media response. 
  • Nov 4 ' 07 - The Musclemania World Tour with expand next season with New Shows in Mexico including Cancun, Acapulco, Guadalajara and Chiquaqua. Joining the already successful Mexico, Prestige and Latino shows, the new events will give more Mexican bodybuilders a chance to experience Musclemania shows and qualify to compete at the MM Superbody and World Championships.
  • Nov 2 ' 07 - MM Pro Jason Powell has been signed on to promote Optimum Nutritions new 100% whey protein product line. The Houston personal trainer just spent four days shooting with the supplement company's advertising agency in Chicago. Jason will be competing at MM World in Hollywood.
  • Oct 30 '07 - He hasn't competed since becoming a MM Pro James Kohler in 2005, but the 6'3", 230 lbs. is slated to return to the MM posing dais at the 2008 Superbody in Miami. Most recently, he has been occupied studying for his MBA.
  • Aug 29 '07 - Already recognized as one the world's most popular natural bodybuilders, Musclemania Pro Morris Mendez will make a guest appearance tour including MM Britain (Oct 21), Canada (Oct 27), Latino (Nov 4), World (Nov 16-17) and Argentina (Dec 9).  The superstar sports model is back into serious training but is still undecided when he will return to the competition dais and make claim to the MM World crown.
  • Aug 23 '07 - MM Atlantic Junior Champ Germaine Morgan just got signed to appeared in a new Martin Lawrence flick.  Auditions were assisted by MM promoter Brian Cannone and major shooting begins next month in Connecticut.
  • Jul 23 '07 - JET magazine brought '06 Model Universe Champ R.L. Bond to Cancun to shoot for their annual swimsuit calendar.  And, next week, the 23 year old sports model will be shooting for MTV's show "Next" and has had two callbacks for 3 other network shows.
  • July 19 '07 - Model Universe Champion Tommy Bryant was just casted for a role in a lead role in popular television show, CSI Miami .  The 35 year old Bowflex fitness model appears regularly in Men's Health, Men's Fitness, Vibe and many other fitness magazines and is planning to compete at Model America in November.
  • July 7 '07 - With the success of the Universe Weekend webcast, expect to see the complete Musclemania World Tour broadcast worldwide .  Popular events like the Canada, New York, Las Vegas, America, World and selected other Musclemania, Ms. Bikini, Figure and Model World Tour shows will be webcast to every country of the world.  More information will be posted soon.
  • Jul 7 '07 - This month's Muscle & Fitness has a big 8-page work-out training editorial & photo spread featuring MM Pro Morris Mendez .  The former cover model has been a juvenile youth counselor for the past 10 years.  Morris was the trophy presenter at the recent MM Superbody in Miami and will be a guest star at MM Canada, New York, Britain and other upcoming events.
  • June 14 '07 - Spray tanning services will be available at the Universe Weekend.  Rockstar Tans of Miami will provide on-site professional spray tanning in portable tan booths located next to the dressing rooms.  Reservations are required. Contact Rockstar Tans at (305) 538-7955.
  • June 9 '07 - MM Canada and MM Britain winners will Win a Free Trip to compete at the MM World in November.  Last year's winners, Canadian Michael Kwao and Britain Andrew Merrifield, competed at the Universal Studios extravaganza along with Team members Larry Vinette, Rob Terry, Ivano Di Francesco, Rob Riches, Tony Montalbano and many others.
  • June 7 '07 - Next week, REPS magazine will photograph MM Pro Markus Reinhardt for a cover and feature.  The 30 year old Las Vegas dancer has trained seriously for the past 6 months and will return to the MM Pro line-up at Superbody in Miami.
  • June 6 '07 - MM World HW Champ Rob Terry has signed and will be training with the WWE and possibly start performing on their wrestling circuit.  The humongous 6'4", 260 lbs. bodybuilder from Wales dominated his weight class in Hollywood.
  • May 27 '07 - Because of popular demand, the Musclemania World Tour will soon return to the Philippines , but this time the show will be held in Cebu.  Amazing Filipino bodybuilders like Derrick Ternida, Rey Pancho, Ronald Miranda and other will be among the Musclemania veterans judging the competition where the Champion will be sponsored to compete at the World Championships in Hollywood.
  • May 24 07 - MM Pros Nick Jones and Syed Fazli will be competing at MM Superbody Pro but will arrive in Miami 5 days before the show to adjust for water retention.  Nick will be flying 25 hours all the way from Adelaide, Australia, and Syed from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a 48 hours of flying time!  Says Nick, "Between the jet lag and water retention, competing is a killer!"
  • May 16 '07 - Although MM Junior Larry Camacho is out of school for the summer, he's decided not to get a part time job so that he can train twice a day plus cardio.  "My goal is to compete at 180 lbs. - almost 20 lbs. heavier than at the Worlds.  So, I am dedicated 100% to winning the Superbody," he claims.   Larry's father is his training partner, so it seems not getting a job is O.K. at home.
  • May 07 '07 - Muscle & Fitness just shot with MM Pro Morris Mendez for another cover shot.  His recent feature in the magazine was so popular that the photo editors flew him to California for an encore.  The 5'11", 210 lbs. lifter is one of the most popular natural bodybuilding the stars ever.
  • Apr 25 '07 - Canada keeps pumping out top bodybuilders including Kane Sabamat who just signed an endorsement deal with Controlled Labs.  The 39 year old has never competed but is making Musclemania Canada on October 27 his revealing.  With a shredded 5'10", 185 lbs. physique, Kane will shake up Toronto.
  • Apr 23 '07 - Delta Champion Carey Addison is back in the gym following a two year hiatus.  The 6'2" recreation director reports that he's weighing over 260 lbs. with 10% body fat.  Say's Carey, "I will be shooting for something at the end of the year, and hopefully I won't look back. I have the time, so once I get in the shape of my life."
  • Mar 28 '07 - Universe Weekend in Miami will be Live Webcast including the Musclemania Superbody, Model Universe and all events. Three days of shows will feature the competitions, behind the scenes, interviews and much more as it happens. Details posted on May 1.
  • Mar 11 '07 - All competitors at MM Superbody and Model Universe will be have a chance to model for the 2008 Musclemania and Model Universe Calendars. Selections for both calendars will be made following the Athlete Meeting and photography will take place on South Beach and Biscayne Bay.
  • Mar 10 '07 - In addition to the urinalysis drug testing procedures followed at MM Superbody, this year new polygraph testing will be administered to all international competitors following the Athletes Meeting and before the Prejudging. Any competitor testing positive will not be permitted to proceed in the competition. This extra testing level will help mitigate problems stemming from some international bodybuilders.
  • Mar 09 '07 - New Egyptian bodybuilding stars Shrief Zezo and Mohamed Mahmoud just got sponsored to compete at Musclemania Superbody in Miami. They have won the Egyptian Championships (Junior and Open LW Divisions, respectively) and hope to have the same luck as countryman Tamer El Shahat, '03 MM World Champ.
  • Feb 26 '07 - Prolab Nutrition has signed a sponsorship deal with former MM Capital Classic Champ Martin "Addo" Luther .  Among his responsibilities, he will represent the company at the Arnold Classic.  Originally from Africa, Martin current resides and training in Brooklyn, New York, home to this year's Musclemania New York on September 15.
  • Feb 19 '07 - MM Canadian Junior star Dorian Hamilton just landed a sponsorship deal with NxLabs.  The new sports nutrition brand will track Dorian's development and competitive progress while using their cutting edge products.   Dorian is training to take on the Junior's at Musclemania Superbody in Miami.
  • Jan 30 '07 - New MM World Junior Champion Bradly Castleberry just signed a promotion deal with new supplement line, Magnum Nutrition.  He will represent the company at the Arnold, Olympia, Musclemania and other events this season.  Since his big win, the 5'10", 225 lbs. sensation has been a popular model for many sports & fitness magazines.
  • Jan 23 '07 - MM Pro Brian Weifering got a call from Muscle & Fitness and will soon fly to California for another photo session. The handsome husband and father of four beautiful girls hasn't competed since the '05 MM Superbody in Miami, but has been training and maintaining his world class, model physique.
  • Jan 12 '07 - Reigning MM World Pro Champ David Whittaker has been asked to make a guest appearance at this year's MM China.  The goliath 6'4", 250 lbs. star has never traveled outside the US, so he says this trip
    will be a "real adventure".  In 2005, MM Pro Morris Mendez made a huge impact on the Chinese audience and was treated to a special tour of Beijing including a photo session within the walls of the historic
    Forbidden City of the Emperors.
  • Jan 12 '07 - MM Pro Jason Powell is set to make a big comeback this
    season.  According to the Texas personal training, he's added a lot of
    muscle, improved his symmetry and will be shooting for some magazines very soon.  Jason was a popular cover model for past issues of Muscle Media.
  • Jan 11 '07 - Adam Cohen, the '05 MM Superbody Junior Champ, just
    completed his junior year of college and is preparing for his masters
    degree in nutrition.  The 5'8" junior says his training is progressing
    well and he will return to the contest stage this summer.
  • Jan 11 '07 - New MM World HW Champ Rob Terry will soon move from his
    native Wales to train in the US.  Now that the massive 6'4", 245 lbs.
    sensation is a MM Pro, he says he wants to expose himself to the fitness media and push along his fitness career.  Currently Rob is a local bank branch officer.
  • Dec 19 '06 - Fans of the popular television show "The Apprentice" may have seen MM Pro Renaldo Gairy in new series promotions.  Following his trip to Hollywood to compete at MM World, Renaldo was casted in Toronto for the commercial which is currently being broadcast throughout the US and Canada.
  • Dec 19 '06 - MM will soon announce details of the MM Junior Scholarship .  Beginning in 2007, a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the winners of both the MM Superbody in Miami and MM World in Hollywood.  The funds will help to pay for his school tuition, books and/or other academic needs.
  • Nov 30 '06 - New Musclemania HW Champion Rob Terry was scouted at the recent Hollywood show by a WWE scout and will soon have a try-out in his native UK.  The 6'4", 260 lbs. sensation will make his MM Pro debut at Superbody in Miami.
  • Nov 30 '06 - MM World, MM Superbody other new DVD's are now available at the MM.com Store .
  • Nov 30 '06 - New 2007 events including MM Orange County, Capitol, Vancouver, Paris and many others.  Dates and locations are now posted.
  • Nov 30 '06 - MM television broadcast schedule on ESPN Int'l, TSN, RDS and other networks are now posted.
  • Nov 30 '06 - New Musclemania.TV begins on-line March 1.  The monthly website show will feature contest highlights, bodybuilder profiles, gym tours around the world and much more.  And, competitors can send their videos and DVD's to be included.
  • Sep 11 '06 - The MM Philippines Selection Tour will begin in a few weeks.  Filipino stars like Roderick Ternida and Rey Pancho will travel to Visayas, Mindanao, Cebu City, Angeles City, Subic, Baguio City, San Fernando City and Manila in search the Philippines most promising bodybuilder.  The winner will be sponsored to compete at MM World in Hollywood.
  • Sep 11 '06 - MM Pro Denis Couprie , HW phenom Rob Terry and Model America Champion Andy Aston were guest stars at the recent MM Britain.   Denis is a prominent London personal trainer and commercial actor, Rob is training for MM World and Andy will be making an encore performance in Hollywood.
  • Aug 18 '06 - In only it's second year, MM China will expand to a 3-day extravaganza open to all bodybuilders around the country.  Based upon inquiries and early entries, over 500 competitors and 3,000 audience are expected with vendors from throughout Asia exhibiting.
  • Aug 18 '06 - At the recent MM New York, judges included MM Pros Tommy Alston Jr. , Louis Santiago and Jamel Keels plus New York City star Domingo Tanco
  • Aug 18 '06 - MM Philippines Champion Derrick Ternida has secured corporate sponsorship to travel to Hollywood and compete at Musclemania World.  Say's Derrick, "Now I can train with a clear head and focus on winning my weight class and becoming a Musclemania Pro."
  • Aug 18 '06 - '03 MM Superbody HW Champion Rob Terry has been laying low in Wales, UK, but training hard and heavy.  Since competing in 2004, his off season bodyweight has creped to over 20 stones (280 lbs.) with less than 10% fat.  "I've maintained a strict diet for the past two years and hope to bring the goods to MM World," claims Rob.
  • Jul 13 '06 - New MM Canada Champion Michael Kwao is second MM Pro to original hail from Ghana. Kofi Abrampah earn his MM Pro status two years ago at the MM Atlantic and now promotes the annual MM West Africa in Ghana.

  • Jun 21 '06 - Superbody HW Finalist Jim Collins just got the nod from Muscle & Fitness and will fly to LA after competing this weekend at Superbody. Says Jim. "I'm excited and at my best!" The Cincinnati gym owner recently started a new sports beverage line.
  • Jun 19 '06 - MM Pro Brian Wiefering is a Top 10 Finalist for Gillette's "Face of Fusion" contest.  The winner will earn a 1-year contract with Ford Modeling Agency and a new '06 Dodge Charger.
  • Jun 12 '06 - Popular fitness magazine Men's Workout will be running a major feature about the Model Universe in an upcoming edition.  In the past, it has featured the Model America and profiled the winners.
  • Jun 12 '06 - MM Atlantic Champ Luis Santiago is fired up for Superbody.  "My goal is to come a bit thicker than the Atlantic but, still very well conditioned," he said.  As the newest MM Pro, the 5'4", 145 lbs. powerhouse has been competing for only two years.
  • Jun 7 '06 - At 225 lbs., first time MM competitor Matt Kouba is one big kid who is aiming to take on junior favorites Castleberry and Bass.  "I think the '"fierce competition"' should include me", he said.  The Illinois college student and football star has dieted from 250 lbs. to reveal an amazingly symmetrical physique.

  • Jun 1 '06 - MM Pro Tommy Alston says, "I'm bigger than ever before, especially my arms."  He barely lost to Morris Mendez at MM Superbody last year.
  • Jun 1 '06 - MM Pro Kevin Love has decided to pass on Superbody and will continue training for MM World in Hollywood.  "My growth is too good to stop now," he stated.
  • Jun 1 '06 - A fierce contest is brewing between '05 MM World Juniors Bradly Castleberry (CA) and Brandon Bass (TX).  They will battle again at the Superbody in Miami, but both with 10-15 lbs. more muscle.
  • Jun 1 '06 - Masters star George Finney will be back on stage at MM Superbody following a heart attack earlier this year.  The 78 year young former Marine says, "My doctors gave me the go ahead to leave rehab and train at my own gym again."
  • Jun 1 '06 - MM West Africa star Paul Akava from Kenya will the first native African to compete at MM Superbody.  He got a sponsor to buy his airline ticket and hotel room, applied for a US visa and has been training for his American debut.
  • Jun 1 '06 - New Zealand star Sanjeev Naranyan has decided to compete at the MM Australia on October 21.  "My training is on target and I am planning to be at least 85 kg (187 lbs.) on stage," he promised.
  • Jun 1 '06 - Women's sensation Janelle Gallo will be making her MM comeback in Miami.  She said, "My life is in order and my training has never been better."  Janelle wants to compete at 130 lbs.
  • Jun 1 '06 - Jamel Keels is preparing for his MM Pro debut in Miami while he says good bye to his 3rd grade school students.  Next season, he'll be  leaving the classroom to become a personal trainer.
  • Jun 1 '06 - '05 Ms. Bikini America Heather Green is switching to MM Figure this season starting at the Universe Weekend.
  • Jun 1 '06 - Canadian heavyweight star Kurt Tomlinson says, "My legs are ready and finally match my upper body."  He will try to finally earn his MM Pro status in Miami weighing over 215 lbs., his heaviest ever.
  • Jun 1 '06 - Cross-over inquiries are abound about competing in both bodybuilding and figure.  Currently, there are no rules restricting cross-overs.
  • Jun 1 '06 - MM Pro Sean Larson is skipping Miami because he experienced a severe back injury just before the Atlantic.  "I need time to heal, but watch out Hollywood - King Larson is coming," he joked.
